Online Education undoubtedly has spread its wings in all areas of education. Although it is advantageous in many ways but at the same time it has some disadvantages also. Some of the disadvantages are:
No Checking on Regular Basis: The education provided is online hence there are no checks subject to the student’s performance on regular basis. Although there are strict schedules and many rules and regulations, the students still have to take initiative and care of their studies and requirements. There are no instructors or teachers to keep a strict eye on them.

Lack of Technical Skills: Online education uses more technical and advanced methods to teach. Lack of technical ability hence hinders the process of education. Being a student, one is not able to understand the advanced method of teaching. The teachers or instructors teaching the subjects are not technically sound that they can use the advanced methods to teach the students.
Lack of Motivation: When the education is provided online, a student may sometimes become lazy and take his studies otherwise. He may devote less time in studies and takes months to finish a course. If there is no motivation towards studies, there is absolutely no use of getting it.
Lack of Computer and Internet: Online education needs a computer and of course an Internet connection. People in rural region are still not able to use these facilities. Having a computer at their home is like a dream for them, they cannot afford it. Moreover, the Internet connection in the rural region is not up to the mark.
Lack of Interaction: When a student is working online, the only mode of Interaction is online. If he is facing any technical difficulty, he cannot consult or discuss his problem with anyone. It becomes very difficult for him to clear his doubts as there is no direct interaction between tutor and student.
Difficult to maintain: When a student opts for online education, this means that he has less time to study and has to cope with his studies as well as with his job and duties. This becomes very difficult for him as he now has to make a balance between job and his studies. If a person is at his regular study, he has a pre-arranged and well maintained time table and hence he works accordingly, but being online, there is no hard and fast rule to have a time table and hence person studying finds it difficult to maintain. Here, he has to design his own time table.
Cost Factor: Undoubtedly, the online education is not very costly but the facilities and the type of education provided under this makes it costly. The better the course of online education, the more it costs. That’s why it sometimes becomes difficult for a common person to afford it.
Although it has some disadvantages it still is the best method of distance learning with less efforts and more practicality. These drawbacks get easily covered by the advantages provided by the online education which summarizes that online education is all in all best interactive mode of learning.
